Blackie,

My heart disagrees to believe that you are no more. It was not the time for you to go. I haven’t been able to process the fact that I will no longer hear you bark or run to the door when I come. It is a shock which will take some time to overcome. I can feel the touch of your head under my palm as I remember the way you used to keep your face in my lap your chocolate brown eyes peering up at me innocent and impish in the same look. Those eyes, so expressive and emotional and when I looked at you and you seemed like mine; my very own SON!!

Whenever the kids decided to play you were at their side in a flash! More enthusiastic than anyone. You never liked being left out or chained down. You made it a point so that no one ever had the chance to pamper or love you any less. You considered yourself a KING and made it a point to live your life befitting one.

You picked up on my emotions probably better than even the kids. When I was sad or afraid or feeling all alone you were the first by my side to share and to elevate me to a state of peace and joy. My constant companion and friend you changed my life in ways that words can never compare.

I’ll always love you and remember you.
